Italian Cheese Week in Madrid from the 4th to the 10th of june
Seven delicious days in the Spanish capital. Four excellent cheeses are the stars of a festival that aims to promote the culture of Italian cheese. Food, presentations, tastings and matching. For all the tastes.
Tuna steak with Mozzarella di Bufala Campana sauce, Asiago browned dices, Onion Soup with Pecorino Sardo, pinot noir and Parmigiano Reggiano ice cream are just some of the gastronomic proposals that from Monday the 4th of June will be tasted at the Italian Cheese Week, organized in Madrid by the Protection Consortium of Asiago, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino Sardo cheeses
The purpose of the event is to spread the culture of Italian PDO cheese, more and more present in the Spanish market.
Seven days and a full program of events and ideas where professionals and food enthusiasts can interact and share the history, the experiences, the secrets and the traditions that are inside the four PDO cheeses.
Heart of the event is the Poncelet Cheese Bar in Madrid, emblematic place for spreading cheese culture in the Spanish capital
Chef Paco Pajares has studied original and innovative proposals for the occasion that will be declined in various culinary dishes throughout the day: from breakfast to dinner, going through a "tapas" aperitif . The house maîtres fromagers , from the privileged position of the "cava de quesos" (the extraordinary scene / theater of cheese cutting ) will create a perfect cheese tasting and the sommelier will propose a wine list rich of prestigious Spanish wines
Moreover there will be tastings and seminars for professionals and amateurs led by Angela Barusi, manager of the event and expert in the field; Italian cheeses will "occupy" the library with a rich texts selection and informative materials will be available for all those who want to "live" the experience of Italian Cheese Week in Madrid.
