Consorzio Asiago Regulating plan

Reg.(EC)261/2012 and Reg.(EU)1308/2013 introduced the possibility of regulating the production offer for cheeses with protected designation of origin, in order to create balance with respect to the demand. On the basis of the regulations of the European Union, the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, with ministerial decree 15164 of 12.10.2012, issued the “Guidelines for implementing plans for regulating the offer of cheeses that benefit from protected designation of origin or a protected geographical indication”.
The regulating Plan of the offer for Asiago cheese is drawn up according to the requirements of community and national regulations. It is based on the principle whereby the production department represents a single subject, for which the optimum level of balance between demand and offer is defined with a predetermined rhythm.
In line with the requirements of the regulations, the Plan is binding for all producers included in the Asiago PDO control system; this is contemplated by the Guidelines for implementing plans for regulating the offer of cheeses that benefit from protected designation of origin or a protected geographical indication, which are integrated in the Ministerial Decree of 12 October 2012 (“Rules for applying EC regulation no. 1234/2007").
